Dear neighbours and friends,
Ugly Dumpling is closing on December 20th.
It's been such a fun, busy year and we are incredibly thankful to you all for making it a success! Darren and Nanako are heading to Japan to take care of the family business, which had always been in the plans, the timing's just worked out to be for the next season.
The rest of us are sticking around and have plans to do something new in the space next year. We're going to miss Darren's food terribly,
but we'll just have to visit them in Japan when we can!

farmers are our friends
Good food comes from good people. More important than the people who cook your food, are the ones who grow it. We are lucky to be surrounded by a community of outstanding farmers and artisans who offer a bounty of deliciousness. Their dedication to the highest of quality makes our job simple: respect the ingredients and don't mess it up! And now with our living garden patio, much of what we use is grown just outside our doorstep.

unpredictable. our menu is composed every morning from the ingredients at our fingertips. Market harvests from local farms, aged meat from our whole animal butchery program, and the freshest seafood. We recommend letting us cook for you!
Every Sunday we make hand crafted ni-hachi style soba from 80% organic local buckwheat flour noodles. Soba noodles are available only for reserved omakase bookings.
We have a rotating beverage program of sake, natural wine, and local craft beer. Much like our food program, we showcase special things that steward the land and shine in the glass. Our limited cocktail list features herbs from the garden and preserves from local farms.
House made sodas and ferments for those who imbibe on zero proof, too!
